William has just come back from the Pacific Rim Championships where he competed in the Jnr Men All-Around Competition and placed 14th Overall. This is an outstanding achievement! Well done to William and also William’s Coach Shane.
We asked William a few questions about his trip to Colombia.
“The best memory of the trip was definitely the competition itself. The team vibes and the overall environment was truly amazing. With all the other teams cheering on one another as well as us shouting for each other was truly an awesome new experience for me. With that, even though it was a competition against the other teams there was no serious rivalry as during trainings we got to know the other teams very well, so the whole time it was a very serious but fun competition.”
“My favorite event to compete on was floor. Even though I had many mishaps during the routine itself, it was such a great experience being able to look over the crowd on such a big event. As well as this the floor itself was so nice and it felt like I could’ve tumbled for hours.”
“The highlight of Colombia was the whole competition itself, not just competing but being able to watch and be a bi stander and being able to watch the seniors and also the vibes of the Colombian stands. Completely different to any competition here in NZ and it was such an awesome feeling too be a part of something so great.”
We hope to see William at more international competitions over the next few years!
